HACCP Certification
HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points. It is a systematic approach to ensuring food safety. Like GMP, HACCP is internationally recognised and is used throughout the food industry worldwide to identify and minimise potential risks and ensure food safety.
The HACCP system is based on seven fundamental principles. These include, in particular, the analysis of potential hazards, the identification of critical control points, and the establishment and implementation of appropriate measures to effectively monitor and control these points.
EU Organic Logo
Organic production places particular requirements on, among other things, the use of fertilisers and plant protection products, as well as sustainable production practices. Products bearing the EU Organic Logo are subject to the relevant control and certification requirements.
For consumers, the EU Organic Logo provides clear and recognised guidance and confirms that labelled products meet the applicable EU requirements for organic production.
SEDEX / SMETA
SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) is an established audit methodology for assessing responsible business practices and working conditions within companies and supply chains.
A SMETA audit covers the following key areas:
-
Labour Standards: Working conditions, working hours, wages, equal treatment, and the prevention of child and forced labour.
-
Health and Safety: Occupational health and safety, safe working conditions, emergency procedures and appropriate protective measures.
-
Environmental Management: Environmental practices, including waste management, energy efficiency and emissions reduction.
-
Business Ethics: Transparency, anti-corruption measures and the protection of confidential information.
Strictly speaking, SMETA is not a certification, but an audit methodology used to assess the extent to which a company meets specific requirements and standards. The results of the audit are documented and shared through SEDEX (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange), an online platform for responsible supply-chain management.
